Pre-Google

Even before I checked the copyright page I could tell that Wicked was written before the days of the comprehensive internet search. Naming a character Melena? Really? I type this word at least five times a day while transcribing medical records, and it isn't pretty: black stool, usually indicative of serious bleeding somewhere in the gastrointestinal system.

Note to anyone who wants to write a Lord of the Rings-type novel, where names of people and places are largely fictitious and fantastical: consult Google before publishing. Please.
